Ignacio Arteaga leads the Environmental and Regulatory practice at Arteaga Gorziglia & Compañía. He focuses his practice in assisting companies of all productive sectors in environmental law and regulatory matters. He acts as legal counsel in environmental audit processes, the defense of industries in sanitary investigations and sanctionatory processes, in projects that are subject to the Sistema de Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental and in the development of projects for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions according to the Mechanism for the Clean Development of the Kyoto Protocol.
Mr. Arteaga also has a large experience in assisting companies in matters of foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, commercial arbitrations and international commerce.
He worked in Cariola Diez Pérez-Cotapos & Cía. Ltda. for 12 years, firm in which he was part of the Corporate and Commercial Law practice for 10 years, and where he later organized and leaded the Environmental and Regulatory practice for 2 years.
Mr. Arteaga also worked at Clifford Chance (London) in 1997. He was professor of the Department of Commercial Law at the Universidad Católica Law School between 1999 and 2005 and post-graduate professor of the Magister de Derecho de la Empresa of the same university between 2000 and 2005. Professor of Environmental Law at the Universidad Católica Law School (2008).
He is an arbitrator of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago since 2001. Member of the Chilean Bar Association.
